On Friday, 10 October 2025, the Ministry of Labour and Manpower Planning joined the global observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month with an educational and solidarity-focused session.
The event featured Dr. Ejaz Hatim, Medical Coordinator of the Guyana Cancer Society, who highlighted the critical importance of early detection and screening in the fight against breast cancer. His presentation emphasized the widespread impact of the disease and the role everyone can play in supporting those affected.
Staff from the ministry showed their solidarity by wearing pink, demonstrating unity with breast cancer warriors, survivors, and their families.
Minister of Labour and Manpower Planning, Hon. Keoma D. Griffith, underscored the significance of the initiative, stating: “This month is all about standing together. By wearing pink today, we show our support for the women, the warriors, and the families who are affected by breast cancer. Let’s continue to uplift, support, and encourage those who are battling this challenge. Together, we are stronger.”
The Ministry of Labour and Manpower Planning encouraged continued awareness, support, and hope for those affected by breast cancer throughout the month.
