The Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) has completed its investigation into allegations of inappropriate conduct involving officers attached to the Guyana Police Force Academy at the Georgetown campus.
The alleged incidents were recently brought to the attention of the Commissioner of Police, who ordered an immediate inquiry. Following this directive, OPR investigators interviewed several Academy staff members and recruits, all of whom provided formal statements.
The investigation has now concluded, and the case file is being sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) on October 13, 2025, for legal advice.
In the meantime, one officer and three sergeants implicated in the matter have been transferred from the Academy pending further action.
