A 26-year-old real estate agent of Haslington, East Coast Demerara, has been arrested in connection with an alleged incident of child abuse committed on Friday at Haslington Railway Embankment.
According to reports, the suspect allegedly physically assaulted his 11-year-old son during a misunderstanding. The matter was reported by the child’s 25-year-old mother. Following the report, both the mother and child were interviewed, and statements were obtained. The child was examined by a medical practitioner, and a medical certificate was submitted.
The suspect remains in police custody assisting with the investigation.
