Twenty-five-year-old Akeem Evans, a labourer of ‘B’ Field, Sophia, was fatally stabbed on Wednesday during an alleged argument with his reputed wife.
Police said the couple lived in the lower flat of a two-storey concrete house owned by Evans’ parents. It is alleged that during the altercation, Evans sustained a stab wound to his chest.
He was assisted by public-spirited citizens and taken, along with the suspect, to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC), where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The suspect reportedly fled the hospital shortly after.
Evans’ body is at the hospital’s mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination.
Investigations are continuing.
