Guyana has once again secured the highest overall performance in the Caribbean at both the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) Examination and Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE), the Ministry of Education announced on Thursday.
The Caribbean Examinations Council confirmed that two students of Queen’s College, Mahesa Boodhoo and Sara Khan, were named the Most Outstanding Performers in the Caribbean at CSEC and CAPE respectively. Their achievements reflect exceptional academic discipline, dedication, and talent, the ministry said.
Education Minister Sonia Parag expressed deep pride in the students’ accomplishments. “Guyana continues to excel on the regional stage because of the resilience, commitment and excellence of our students and educators. Mahesa and Sara have upheld the distinguished legacy and the high standards of our education system. The ministry remains firmly focused on expanding opportunities for all learners to succeed,” Parag noted.
The ministry extended congratulations to the exceptional students and expressed appreciation to teachers, parents, and school administrators nationwide for their contribution to the success of the nation’s learners.
Additional outstanding performers in subject areas will be announced shortly as Guyana continues to celebrate the dedication and achievements of its students across the country.
