Twenty-seven employees of the Bureau of Statistics participated this week in a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity (DEI) training session facilitated by the Ethnic Relations Commission (ERC).
The training aimed to raise awareness and promote harmonious, inclusive practices within the workplace. Participants were introduced to core DEI concepts, highlighting their importance in fostering a respectful and productive work environment, as well as strategies to implement these practices on the job.
The session also provided employees with a deeper understanding of the ERC’s constitutional functions and the legislative framework designed to protect individuals from discrimination and promote equality and inclusion in Guyana.
The Bureau of Statistics expressed gratitude to the ERC facilitators, Public Relations Officer Mr. Shiv Nandlall and Programme Officer Mr. Shivraj Balkissoon, for their guidance during the training.
