Police have arrested a 48-year-old man in connection with a break-and-enter and larceny at the Ministry of Home Affairs on Brickdam, Georgetown, early Monday morning.
The incident occurred between 03:00 hrs and 04:55 hrs on December 8, 2025. Preliminary enquiries indicate that several electronic devices — including laptop computers, tablets and digital cameras — along with personal items belonging to a staff member were stolen from the building.
Investigators found sections of the Ministry’s middle and lower flats ransacked. An eastern-side washroom window on the lower flat was discovered open, and is believed to have been the point of entry.
CCTV footage reviewed by police led to the suspect’s arrest and the recovery of several items. Investigations are ongoing.
