Two men die on Tuesday in a collision at Moblissa on the Soesdyke–Linden Highway, police said.

The crash occurred at about 15:15 hrs and involved a parked motor lorry, GAG 3120, which was undergoing repairs by its driver, Brian Manoharlall, 49, of Agricola, and a motor car, PRR 5367, driven by Asham Sultan, 32, of Zeelugt.

Police said the car was travelling south at an alleged high speed when the driver lost control, struck Manoharlall at the rear of the lorry, and then crashed into the vehicle.

A doctor from the Linden Hospital Complex pronounced both men dead at the scene. Their bodies were taken to the hospital mortuary pending post-mortem examinations.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
