The Guyana Police Force Immigration Department successfully processed more than one million passengers in 2025, officials said, a milestone that has contributed to the growth of the country’s tourism and hospitality industry.

The department was commended by the Tourism and Hospitality Association of Guyana (THAG) and Roraima Airways for opening 39 new routes and expanding the use of digital technology to enhance operations.
The recognition was presented at the Immigration Department’s Annual Christmas Awards Ceremony and Dinner on Saturday at the Police Officers’ Mess Annex, which also celebrated the dedication and professionalism of its staff.
Woman Corporal Mariangel Smith was named Best Cop of the Year 2025 for her outstanding service and commitment. She received an all-expense-paid trip for two to Arrowpoint Nature Resort, courtesy of Roraima Airways.
