Police are investigating a 37-year-old man from Herstelling, East Bank Demerara, over an alleged larceny by clerk or servant valued at $153,922,971, authorities said.
The alleged offence, reported to have occurred at a telecommunications company, took place between 1 July 2021 and 18 February 2025.
On Tuesday, 23 December, ranks from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) conducted an operation on the East Bank Demerara, where the suspect was contacted, informed of the allegation, and arrested.
He was escorted to CID Headquarters, where he remains in custody pending further investigation.
Police said investigations are ongoing.
