Police are investigating a suspected murder–suicide at a guest house on Lime Street, Wortmanville, Georgetown, early Tuesday.
The victims have been identified as Loriann, 31, a housekeeper, and Cyril Saul, 36, a security guard. Both were employed at the guest house and were reportedly the only staff on duty overnight. Police said the two had previously been involved in an intimate relationship that ended about two months ago.
Officers found the woman with visible injuries in one room and the man unresponsive in another. Both were pronounced dead at the scene by a doctor from the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.
Police recovered a firearm, ammunition, a knife, and a quantity of a suspected substance at the scene. CCTV footage is being reviewed and several people have beevn questioned as part of the investigation.
The bodies were taken to the Memorial Funeral Parlour Mortuary for post-mortem examinations.
