A 34-year-old carpenter was shot dead on Sunday night along the Bare Root Access Road at Bachelor’s Adventure, East Coast Demerara, police said.
The victim has been identified as Homton Chichester, also known as “Orlando.” His body was found lying motionless with suspected gunshot wounds to the chest and shoulder.
Emergency Medical Technicians responded, and a doctor from the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation pronounced him dead at the scene.
Police recovered a motorcycle from the area as part of the investigation. The body was taken to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, where it is awaiting a post-mortem examination.
Investigators canvassed the area for CCTV cameras and retrieved footage for analysis. Several individuals have been questioned. Police said investigations are continuing.
