MODEC will be the title sponsors of the Petra Organised inaugural tertiary school football tournament, slated for a February eighth kickoff at various grounds across the country.
At the launch, MODEC Country Manager, Rafael Fumis, explained the purpose of becoming the title sponsor for the event.
“This is a very important event in my view for a couple years we have been looking after initiatives and finally due to the strong commitment of the Petra Organisation and the Ministry of education we are here…this is very close to our hearts. I hope this first experience is the first of many to come,” Fumis noted.
Meanwhile, Co-Director of the Petra Organisation, Troy Mendonca, thanked MODEC and noted the importance of such a tournament.
“The introduction of MODEC complete this development pathway to ensure young footballers have a pathway throughout their education journey. The tournament also contributes to the education institution enhancing their profiles for sport achievement,” Mendonca noted.
The tournament will feature 14 tertiary institutions, with games slated to be played in Regions Two, Three, Four, Six and Ten.
