The East Bank Demerara and Soesdyke-Linden Highway will soon be buzzing with excitement as the Inter-Village Football Competition, organised by Sports Extra, kicks off next month. The tournament will feature 16 teams and offer more than $2 million in prizes and trophies, promising intense competition.
Organiser Franklin Wilson expressed enthusiasm about the event, which will showcase local talent and encourage community interaction in keeping with the “One Guyana” theme. He also noted the potential economic benefits for local businesses, highlighting the tournament’s ability to strengthen community bonds.
Wilson said he is confident the tournament will be successful and will bring increased activity to the East Bank corridor. Teams such as Agricola, Grove and Friendship are set to participate.
