Police are investigating an alleged larceny of cattle and possession of carcass belonging to a 61-year-old farmer in Regional Division 4 ‘C’.
The incident occurred between 17:30 hrs on March 14 and 06:00 hrs on March 16 at Bachelor’s Adventure, East Coast Demerara, police said.
The farmer, of Melanie Railway Embankment, had left two heifers grazing in a pasture. When he returned, the animals were missing, police said.
Investigators later went to a location at Factory Road, Paradise, where a 44-year-old man was arrested in connection with the case.
Suspected beef and skin were recovered and lodged as investigations continue, police reported.
One of the missing animals has since been recovered alive.
