Flooding across several communities in Region Two has been largely brought under control following a rapid and coordinated response by the regional administration, as monitoring intensifies during the rainy season.
At least 23 hydro pumps are fully operational, with teams maintaining a strong presence on the ground. Officials, including Minister within the Ministry of Public Works Madanlall Ramraj, Regional Chairman Devin Mohan and Regional Executive Officer Susan Saywack, oversee the response.
Authorities say inspections at key outfalls and pump stations confirm systems are functioning efficiently.
“We will continue to keep a close watch on weather conditions, and we urge residents to report any flooding concerns to their respective NDCs,” Mohan said.
“These outcomes clearly show that sustained investment in infrastructure is making a real difference in the lives of our residents,” he added.
