Business Clinic gives direct support to Region Three entrepreneurs

Small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs in Region Three are receiving hands-on support through a government-run Community Business Clinic at Westminster Secondary School.

The initiative, led by the Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, brings together multiple government agencies to provide guidance on business registration, regulatory compliance, and operations.

Tourism, Industry and Commerce Minister Susan Rodrigues said the clinics aim to address persistent gaps affecting small businesses. “We have conducted about 16 of these business clinics over the last few years, benefiting 400 businesses across all ten administrative regions,” she said, noting that many entrepreneurs struggle to maintain compliance and access support systems.

“While you are receiving advice on how to operate your business sustainably, we’re also providing direct access to regulatory agencies so you can become compliant with the laws and registration processes,” Rodrigues added.

Parliamentary Secretary Thandi McAllister encouraged residents to take advantage of the initiative, highlighting the government’s ongoing investment in small business development.

Participants were able to access assistance in areas such as financing, taxation, standards, and certification, while engaging directly with technical officers.
Similar clinics will be rolled out in other regions to strengthen small and medium-sized enterprises nationwide.
