New regional executive officers appointed

President Dr Irfaan Ali has approved the appointment of Regional Executive Officers (REOs) across all administrative regions of Guyana.

The appointments form part of ongoing efforts to strengthen regional governance, improve public service delivery, and advance national development programmes. The newly appointed officers are expected to work closely with regional administrations, local democratic organs, and communities to support effective and inclusive governance.

The appointments are as follows:

• Dr. Steven Cheefoon — Region 1
• Mr. Deolall Rooplall — Region 2
•  Mr. Surendra Kayume — Region 3
•  Mr. Juan Edghill Jr. — Region 4
• Ms. Mary Samaroo — Region 5
•  Mr. Ronald Harsaywack — Region 6
• Dr. Josh Kanhai — Region 7
•  Mr. Marti DeSouza — Region 8
• Mr. Karl Singh — Region 9
• Dr. Gregory Harris — Region 10

The government of Guyana reiterated its commitment to building professional, responsive, and people-centred institutions that promote inclusive development in every region.
