The Guyana Amazon Warriors made their picks at the 2026 CPL Draft, but a familiar face will no longer be playing for the franchise.
Wicket-taking spinner Gudakesh Motie will no longer suit up for the Warriors following the draft, as he has been selected by the rebranded Barbados Tridents.
Motie, in a statement, thanked the Guyana Amazon Warriors team and management for their support.
“Firstly, I want to thank the Guyana Amazon Warriors organisation for backing me at the start of my CPL journey and for the memories and experiences over the years,” Motie stated.
Nevertheless, the Warriors will retain some familiar faces, including Shimron Hetmyer and Shai Hope.
The full squad is as follows: Shimron Hetmyer, Shai Hope, Romario Shepherd, Khary Pierre, Shamar Joseph, Ronaldo Alimohamed, Veerasammy Permaul, Matthew Nandu, Jonathan Van Lange, Mavendra Dindyal, Isai Thorne and Quentin Sampson.
