One dead, another hospitalised in Reliance accident

Satesh Persaud is dead and another man hospitalised after a head-on collision on the Reliance Public Road on Saturday.
Persaud, of Reliance, was found critically injured at the scene and rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police said the collision occurred when Persaud, travelling in one direction, met the other vehicle head-on as it approached from the opposite direction.

Residents said they heard a loud crashing sound and rushed to the scene, where they found Persaud on the roadway.
The other driver sustained injuries and remains under medical care at the Lima Regional Hospital.

Police are investigating the circumstances of the fatal collision.
