Assistant Commissioner of Police Calvin Brutus has been dismissed from the Guyana Police Force (GPF) for disciplinary breaches and discreditable conduct.
The Police Service Commission (PSC) made the decision and formally communicated it in a letter dated February 5, 2025, addressed to Brutus at his Police Officers’ Mess Compound residence. His termination is effective immediately.
According to the PSC, the offences occurred during his tenure as Deputy Commissioner of Police (acting) – Administration, between August 2020 and July 2024.
The letter also instructed the Police Commissioner to oversee Brutus’ handover and return of all government-issued documents, equipment, and other assets in his possession.
Brutus is facing more than 200 criminal misconduct charges.
