A total of 1,048 grams of marijuana and 40 improvised weapons, along with other prohibited items, were
discovered during a search at Mazaruni Prison conducted by members of the Joint Services last Saturday.
According to a police release, the operation was carried out in the Sibley Hall section of the Mazaruni
Prison.
Other prohibited items found included 29 lighters, four pairs of scissors, two pocket knives, and two
mobile phones. The operation was completed without incident, the release stated.
