‘Taste of Guyana’ delights visitors at Energy Conference

Attendees at this year’s Guyana Energy Conference and Supply Chain Expo are being treated to a flavourful journey through the country’s rich culinary heritage, thanks to the inaugural “Taste of Guyana” event, hosted in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Commerce.

Located at the Seawall Round House, this vibrant showcase features more than 20 local food vendors serving up a delectable spread of authentic Guyanese cuisine.

It runs until Friday, the conclusion of the conference, and promises to tantalise the taste buds while celebrating the nation’s diverse culinary traditions.

Tourism Events Officer Marievist Lord is encouraging attendees to take advantage of this opportunity to savour Guyana’s finest flavours.

“What you can expect from us out here is all local foods, from pepperpot to cook-up, Chinese fried rice, and seven curry with leaf. We have the old-time sweets, including Wendy’s — the ones with the rubber bands — you can have them right here. Also, we have wines, cream liqueur, coconut biscuits, and local chocolates. So, everything local, you can find it all right here,” she noted with pride.

The impressive line-up of local food vendors includes beloved names such as Wendy’s Old School Sweet Treats, Manzana, Events of Excellence Catering and Hospitality Management Services, Sabarosa Cuisine, Noble Ventures, Singing Chef Adventures, Destiny’s Delight, Propa Local Wines, and many others.
