Terrie McCalmon, 21, a Private in the Guyana Defence Force, was reportedly robbed of his red and white XR motorcycle (Trade Plate MR 2), valued at $495,000.
The incident occurred at approximately 20:30 hrs on Thursday, Police say.
According to the report, the suspect, an identifiable male armed with a handgun, approached McCalmon while he was cleaning his motorcycle in front of his yard.
The perpetrator, who came from the western direction of a nearby street, pointed the firearm at the victim and demanded that he hand over the motorcycle.
Fearing for his life, McCalmon reportedly ran into his yard, leaving the motorcycle with the key still in the ignition.
The suspect then mounted the vehicle and fled in an eastern direction, successfully escaping the scene.
