No valuable losses in office break-in, says Housing Ministry

The Ministry of Housing and Water, through the Central Housing and Planning Authority said that despite the recent break-in at its Annex office on Croal Street, no valuable items or documents were lost.
The ministry in a statement confirmed that all records and files remain intact, dispelling earlier concerns raised following reports of the burglary. The break-in, which occurred sometime between Sunday evening and Monday morning, targeted the office housing the Community Development Department.
The building, however, was properly secured, and a security guard was on duty during the incident.
“While the premises were ransacked, we are pleased to report that no valuable assets were taken, and all documents are accounted for,” the ministry’s statement said, adding that “The break-in appears to have been a random act of burglary, and we want to assure the public that no sensitive or important records were lost in the incident.”
CCTV footage captured the suspect entering through a window in a secluded area of the building. Police were immediately notified and are continuing their investigation to identify the individual responsible for the break-in.
The ministry in its statement expressed gratitude for the swift response of law enforcement and reiterated its commitment to maintaining the security of its offices and records.
