General Secretary of the People’s Progressive Party (PPP), Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo, today said that Nazar “Shell” Mohamed should come clean and state exactly who may want to assassinate his son.
“It definitely isn’t the PPP,” he said while addressing claims made by the popular businessman during his weekly press conference at Freedom House.
He noted that if Nazar is speaking the truth, he should “come public” with the name(s) instead of trying to give his son, Azruddin, a certain profile by making it seem like the PPP/C is afraid of him.
Dr. Jagdeo further stated that the relevant authorities should be notified and involved in such a serious situation.
He also addressed claims that “the PPP/C got someone to accuse his (Nazar’s) son of rape,” clarifying, “We (PPP/C) don’t play baby politics.”
The Mohameds have made several public claims about the government, hinting at unfair treatment and victimization. However, Dr. Jagdeo reiterated that the administration is in no way targeting the Mohameds but is instead acting in accordance with the US Department of the Treasury’s Office for Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctions against them, keeping the nation’s best interests at heart.
