The Day and Night Care Early Childhood Development Centre in Region Three is on track to meet its completion deadline later this year.

The $74.2 million facility, located in Anna Catherina, is aimed at providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children during their formative years.

Human Services and Social Security Minister, Dr. Vindhya Persaud, inspected the progress of the facility during a visit on Monday to ensure that the completion date remains on track for this year.

The project aligns with the ‘Every Child Safe’ Programme, which governs the operations of the Childcare and Protection Agency. The main goal is to guarantee the safety, well-being, and positive development of every child within the system.

The facility is expected to serve as a vital support system for working parents, particularly those who require reliable childcare while fulfilling their professional obligations.

President Irfaan Ali, at the launch of the 100K cash grant for babies last month, highlighted that the government continues to support the development of women. As part of this process, they have committed to providing free daycare services for all working women after 2025.

Another similar facility is in development for Region Four at a cost of $89 million.
