A 56-year-old woman, her 66-year-old husband, and their 28-year-old son were arrested on Friday after police discovered an illegal firearm and ammunition at their home in Alness Village, Corentyne, Berbice.
The arrests were made during a police operation conducted by ranks of Regional Division Number Six. A search of the residence unearthed an unlicensed .38 revolver and seven matching rounds of ammunition.
The trio, who all live at the same address, were cautioned and taken into custody. They remain detained as investigations continue.
